Converge is an opportunity for Market Development and Insights (MD&I) professionals to meet face-to-face, share skills, and form strong business relationships. MD&I is an organization within IBM that consult with IBM decision makers across geographies and business units to provide strategic insights. Once a year, MD&I employees from around the globe gather at Converge and leave energized and prepared to take on the challenge of another successful year.
This annual event was formerly referred to as “Skills Summit.” Each year, I was tasked with creating a new theme for the summit such as “Skills Summit: Insight.” There are a few problems with this title:
1. “Skills Summit” is not unique
2. “Skills Summit” only reflects one aspect of the event
3. New themes do not allow for brand recognition and are not cost efficient
The Converge logo went through many iterations to communicate the idea of convergence. In the end, we chose the simplest form that would work as a wordmark. This would help with brand recognition and the adoption of the new conference name.
The motif emphasizes the brand by uses three converging circles following the golden ratio. In some cases it appears with the type logo and other times it can be used by itself.
The Converge app allows conference attendees to stay up to date on everything happening at Converge. It helps users keep track of their schedule, chat with subject matter experts, and have all the information they need for booking travel and reporting travel expenses.
The app will prompt the users with any actions that they need to take in order to be fully prepared for Converge.
Work trips are always fun but we all dread the work required when we get home. The Converge app helps users find all they information they need to make the end of the trip as easy as possible.
